(Red Deer, Alberta) – Residents in southeast Red Deer may notice flaring between February 1 and May 1 as Just Freehold Energy Corp. tests a natural gas well to determine its economic viability.
During testing, gas is produced and then disposed, through flaring, as a safety measure. Standard safety equipment will be available on site, and all flare stack performance and emissions will meet the requirements of the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) and Alberta Environment.
Flaring will be kept to a minimum, lasting between two-to-four days. Residents within a 1.5 km radius of the well will receive additional written notification prior to well testing.
