(Red Deer, Alberta) – The new administration building at Alto Reste Cemetery opened in November, and the public will benefit from the increased space and amenities it provides.
“Our new facility offers a more comfortable environment where families can make arrangements for their loved ones,” said Steve Davison, Parks Amenities Supervisor with The City of Red Deer. “The building has a waiting area and a large public room, as well as offices that allow for privacy during the planning process.”
While the public will appreciate the accessibility and functionality of the building, City staff are also looking forward to working in a more user-friendly space. “We have a new shop area and a storage space for large equipment,” Davison said. “Both of these spaces will increase our efficiency for behind-the-scenes work, which always helps to ensure that things go smoothly for the public.”
Cemetery Services administrative staff moved from City Hall to Alto Reste in 2007, and Davison notes it was a positive move. “Getting all of our staff under one roof was the first step in improving our services,” he said. “The new building is another big achievement that will help us to continue serving the public.”
