Commercial and industrial values soar in June

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Commercial building permits are up $5.1 million this month, as compared to June 2009. Contributing to the increase in values was a building permit issued for an addition to Walmart South, at a construction value of $5 million.

An industrial building permit was issued for an addition to Quinn’s Pumps (4080 – 77 Street), at a construction value of $6.9 million. This building permit drove values up from this time last year by $7.3 million.

Residential permit numbers have seen a decrease this month; however, year to date, values are up by $4.7 million.

Overall building permit values this month have seen a 43% increase over last year.
