Let's Talk Red Deer's environment

June 3, 2010

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Red Deer residents now have another tool to provide their views on The City’s environmental initiatives. It is called the Environmental Master Plan forum– a unique site for Red Deerians to provide their feedback, ideas, and comments on The City’s long term vision for a green and sustainable Red Deer.

“Hearing the views of residents is very important for shaping of Red Deer’s environmental future,” said Lauren Maris, Environmental Program Specialist with The City of Red Deer. “These online forums provide a different way for people to provide their input when it is convenient for them.”

Let’s Talk Red Deer poses a number of questions about the environment in Red Deer. It is similar to discussion that will be had at the community workshops throughout June and invites users to provide their comments. Users can also view and comment on feedback provided by others.

To sign up and provide your feedback, simply visit www.letstalkreddeer.ca/environment, click on ‘sign up’ and fill in the required fields. Once you’ve completed those fields, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you entered asking you to click on a link to confirm your registration. You will automatically be logged into the site once you click on the link.

“This is an opportunity for everyone in Red Deer to have their say into our long term environmental vision,” said Maris. “Even if you are unable to attend the open houses or community workshops, we still want to hear from you. This forum offers residents a different way to have their ideas heard.”
