Red Deer, Alberta) – Bower Ponds Pavilion concession and boat rentals will re-open for public use on Saturday, May 8, and with the addition of a serenity garden, new stage, and large new playground, visitors to the park will find even more to enjoy at Bower Ponds.
“We encourage the public to rediscover and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Bower Ponds,” said Deb Comfort, Neighbourhood Facilities & Community Development Supervisor with The City of Red Deer. “We request, however, that you don’t feed the birds, as they aren’t able to digest bread properly and can become aggressive toward people, especially young children.”
Facility space within the Bower Ponds Pavilion can be booked for small gatherings and special events, and the Bower Ponds stage can now also be booked for use by the community. Those interested in bringing their events to Bower Ponds may call 403-309-8411 for booking information and rates.
Facility hours are as follows:
May 8 to 31
Weekdays: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Weekends/holidays: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
June 1 to August 31
Weekdays: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Weekends/holidays: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
September 1 to 30
Weekdays: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Weekends/holidays: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Boat Rental services will close if inclement weather occurs and one hour prior to dusk. Boat rental times will be posted on site. For information on renting paddle boats, kayaks and canoes, and the rental rates, please call 403-318-6298.
