Community conversation on a year round market and artisan space
November 9, 2010
(Red Deer, Alberta) – Red Deerians are invited to a community conversation on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, to discuss the proposed year round market and artisan space.
“There has been a lot of interest from our community for a year round market and artisan space, and we want to develop a community driven approach for this project,” said Kristina Öberg, Culture Superintendent with The City of Red Deer. “We would like as much community input as possible to inform the decision making process and bring forward an option to City Council that reflects the input of the community.”
The community conversation will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Gaetz Memorial United Church Hall.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about options for a possible year round market and artisan space, generate ideas about what type of market could work for the community and review the report conducted by The City on various markets across Canada.
“The report has a number of options of how a year round market could work in Red Deer and we need the community’s participation to identify which option may be the best fit for Red Deer,” said Öberg.
To RSVP attendance for the meeting and receive a copy of the research report please email
