(Red Deer, Alberta) – Residents now have a second new drop-off depot for extra recyclables. The former drop-off location was removed at the end of October and replaced with a new depot location at the entrance to the Waste Management Facility. Effective this week, residents can also use a second drop off depot location hosted by Waste Management of Canada Corp at their office at 6207 47A Avenue in the Riverside Light Industrial Park. This second depot location will have the same operating hours as the Waste Management Facility.
“By having the two facilities in Red Deer, it provides residents more recycling drop-off options to serve them better,” said Janet Whitesell, Waste Management Superintendent, with The City of Red Deer.
Items accepted at both locations are: • Metals - tins and cans • Newspaper - newspaper and flyer inserts • Magazines - glossy and paper magazines • Mixed Paper - office paper, junk mail, envelopes • Cardboard - corrugated cardboard boxes • Boxboard - cereal boxes, potato chip boxes, shoe boxes, detergent boxes, etc. • Telephone Books • Plastics - only Code "2" HDPE plastics (e.g. juice, bleach, milk/water jugs) • Glass - jars and bottles. Empty, rinse and remove lids and labels
