Commercial renovations increase permit values

October 1, 2010

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Commercial permit values show an increase over September of 2009, largely due to a permit issued to PCL Construction Management for the interior renovations of TD Canada Trust located at 6320 – 50 Avenue valued at $449,000. Also contributing to the increase was a permit issued to Pearl Rose Construction Ltd for the interior renovation of Canadian Blood Services located at 5, 5020 – 68 Street valued at $423,000.

Contributing to residential values is a permit issued to G & G Plumbing and Heating Ltd for an 8-Plex to be constructed at 3502 – 49 Avenue at a value of $1.3 million. Permit values for Secondary Suites show a significant increase due to the September 1, 2010 deadline for legalizing secondary suites. Other increases in values from September of 2009 are for detached garages and additions to single family dwellings.

Monthly permit statistics are posted on The City’s website at www.reddeer.ca/inspections.
