New Planning department

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Effective November 1, 2010, all planning and subdivision services will be provided by The City of Red Deer’s Planning department. The new department is part of the Planning division along with Inspections & Licensing and Land & Economic Development. Their office is located on the 3rd floor of City Hall.

“By offering planning services within the City, we will be able to provide increasingly effective and collaborative planning services to Red Deer residents,” said Paul Meyette, Planning Director with The City of Red Deer. “We would like to thank Parkland Community Planning Services for providing great planning and subdivision services to The City over the last 15 years.”

The new Planning department will provide planning and subdivision advice and services to Red Deer residents including: undertaking municipal land use planning strategies; maintaining, processing and updating statutory land use plans and policies; managing issues associated with community growth; administering the Neighbourhood Planning and Design Guidelines & Standards; responsibility for the Land Use Bylaw; processing subdivision applications; and providing public consultation processes related to planning, development and subdivision.
