Recreation fee changes come into effect today

October 1, 2010

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Red Deerians will experience increased flexibility and affordability with their current recreation passes starting today, October 1, 2010.

Responding to concerns from the community, City Council approved changes to fees and charges at City owned and operated recreation facilities on September 20, 2010. An improved multi-admission pass structure provides increased flexibility and decreased family rates provide increased affordability.

With the multi-admission pass structure, holders can access more than one facility. Collicutt Centre Card holders can access all City owned recreation facilities, thereby eliminating the Unlimited Action Card created on August 1, 2010. The G.H. Dawe Community Centre Card allows access to all facilities except the Collicutt Centre. The Recreation Centre and Michener Centre cards allow access to both facilities.

If you have purchased an annual pass at any City recreation facilities, prepaid your monthly pass for October, or purchased an Ultimate Action Card, you may be eligible for a refund. For details on refund amounts and the process, please speak to a Customer Service Representative at any City recreation facility.
