2010 Election Candidates' nomination packages still available
September 16, 2010
(Red Deer, Alberta) – Red Deerians interested in running in the 2010 Municipal Election can start their official paperwork now that nomination day is less than a week away. The election includes races for Mayor, City Council and Trustees for Red Deer Public and Red Deer Catholic Schools.
Candidates must file their completed nomination papers as follows:

Legislative & Governance Services 2nd floor City Hall
Candidates running for all offices must obtain a minimum of five signatures from eligible voters who support their nomination.
“Part of the move toward more open and accessible government is making information more available and providing more resources online,” said Frieda McDougall, Deputy Returning Officer with The City of Red Deer. “I am pleased we are able to provide Candidate Handbooks and other important information online and in hard copies for whoever is interested in running. Candidates who do not have access to the internet can pick up Candidate Handbooks at
