September 3, 2010
(Red Deer, Alberta) – Red Deer residents are invited to attend the 2010 Alexander Way Arts Festival and the Earthdance celebration on Saturday, September 18. From noon until 5:30 p.m., enjoy this free, family-oriented festival located at 52 Avenue (between 47 and 48 Street) and in Centennial Park.
Visual and performing artists, feature artists, musicians and local arts organizations will line the street to entertain and delight audiences with their talents and wares. The public can also enjoy interactive art activities, crafts, face painting, balloon artists, and a community drum circle. At 5 p.m., Earthdance commences with a prayer for peace, a non-denominational prayer in support of global peace keeping initiatives. As part of the province-wide Alberta Arts Days, the Alexander Way Arts Festival is an integral part of the three day celebration.
In case of inclement weather, the Alexander Way Arts Festival will be cancelled; however Earthdance will still proceed.
