Closure of the North Bank Trail - Amended

September 17, 2010

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Sections of The North Bank Trail will close starting Saturday, September 18 due to construction in the area. The impact of the construction has now been reduced and only a small portion of the trail connecting the North Bank Trail to Three Mile Bend Recreation area will be closed. The connection of the North Bank Trail between 67 Street and Civic Yards will remain open. The trail will be re-routed in front of the Civic Yards and will connect to Three Mile Bend from the north.

Closures will be in place until construction work wraps up October 1, 2010, as heavy equipment will be working in the area. Trucks will be using the Three Mile Bend Access Road but Three Mile Bend will remain open.

All pets are required to be on leash in areas where equipment is operating. Park users and pet owners are reminded to use caution in the area.
