Volunteers invited to apply for a City Committee

September 30, 2010

(Red Deer, Alberta) – The City of Red Deer is still looking for volunteers to serve on one of the many City committees. Members are needed for the following committees:

Community Housing Advisory Board
Crime Prevention Advisory Committee
Environmental Advisory Committee
Greater Downtown Action Plan (Ad Hoc) Steering Committee (Youth Representative)
Heritage Preservation Committee
Library Board
Mayor’s Recognition Awards Committee
Municipal Features Naming Committee
Municipal Planning Commission
Public Art Jury Ad Hoc Committee
Red Deer Appeal & Review Board and Red Deer Subdivision & Development Appeal Board
Red Deer & District Family and Support Services Board (FCSS Board)
River Bend Golf and Recreation Society (Red Deer)

Along with your desire to serve your community, some of the general skill-sets required for the above noted committees include experience in law, marketing, finance, business, accounting, governance, communication, human resources, environmental awareness, homelessness and social programming, literacy, crime prevention and land use planning.

Anyone interested in applying for a volunteer position is invited to submit a completed application form by Wednesday, October 6, 2010, to Legislative & Governance Services, second floor of City Hall, or by faxing the materials to 403-346-6195.
