(Red Deer, Alberta) – The water slides at the G.H. Dawe Community Centre are closed until Wednesday, September 29, 2010, as crews install water slide traffic light systems.
The traffic light systems will notify riders when it is safe for them to enter the water slides, following the rider before them. Currently, a lifeguard monitors the water slides and performs this duty. The traffic light systems will allow the water slides to remain open throughout the day, regardless of staff availability.
The rest of the G.H. Dawe Community Centre Water park will remain open while this installation occurs.
