Emergency Services to donate “truckloads” of food to Red Deer Food Bank
December 6, 2011
Red Deer’s Emergency Services department is inviting the public to join them and Santa on Thursday, December 8, as they load their fire trucks full of food donations for Red Deer Food Bank. The event is taking place at the Safeway in Parkland Mall.
“On behalf of the Red Deer Firefighters, we thank all residents for their continued support,” said Dan Henschel with Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity.
Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity also organizes the Christmas tree pick up and donates to a variety of non-profit groups including The Red Deer Hospice Society, Loaves and Fishes, Women’s Outreach Centre and Shelter, Circus Camp and the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
The Children’s Charity provides assistance to many families, individual children and children’s programs throughout the city every year and has been doing so for over 30 years.
