Call for Letters of Intent for FCSS funding

January 6, 2011

(Red Deer, Alberta) – Red Deer & District Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) will be issuing a call for Letters of Intent on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, for funding of the delivery of preventive social services to residents of the Red Deer region. Letters of Intent will be accepted until Friday, February 11, 2011.

The Letters of Intent are the first phase in a two-part funding application process under the new FCSS funding model and are for projects over $10,000 per year. Following the Letters of Intent, eligible organizations will submit a funding proposal in spring 2011 to complete the application for FCSS funding for their organization.

Following an extensive review of the FCSS funding practice, a new FCSS funding model was adopted in December 2009, to allow for organizations to secure three year funding. Previously, organizations were only able to secure funding on a year-to-year basis. The Letters of Intent are for funding that will commence in January 2012 and continue until December 2014.

Interested applicants can acquire an information package by visiting the FCSS section of The City of Red Deer website at www.reddeer.ca/fcss. Orientation sessions for those requesting additional information about the Letters of Intent will occur on the morning of Thursday, January 13 and the afternoon of Tuesday, January 18. Organizations can register for these orientation sessions by calling The City of Red Deer Social Planning department at 403-356-8929 or online at www.reddeer.ca/fcss
