The City launches pilot program for crime prevention signage

January 25, 2011

The City of Red Deer is looking for local crime prevention organizations to partner with for an upcoming signage pilot program.

In September 2010, City Council approved two municipally owned permanent information signs that will highlight local crime prevention organizations that operate in Red Deer.

The purpose of the pilot program is to bring awareness to local crime prevention agencies, gage demand of signage, determine the effectiveness of locations and explore the costing options of permanent information signs. The pilot program will run for a year beginning in spring 2011.

Interested crime prevention organizations may download an application form from http://www.reddeer.ca/crimeprevention. Up to four organizations will be selected by The City of Red Deer to appear on the information signs. There is no cost to appear on the information signs. Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2011.
