Volunteers invited to apply for a City Committee

The City of Red Deer is still looking for volunteers to serve on one of the many City committees. Members are needed for the following committees:

Community Housing Advisory Board
1 Citizen Representative (2 year term)
1 Aboriginal Representative (1 year term)

Crime Prevention Advisory Committee
1 Citizen Representative (2 year term)

Environmental Advisory Committee
1 Representative (1 year term)

Greater Downtown Action Plan Steering Committee
1 Youth Representative (1 year term)

Library Board
1 Citizen Representative (2 year term)
1 Citizen Representative (1 year term)

Red Deer & District Family and Community Support Services Board
1 Citizen Representative (2 year term)
1 Citizen Representative (1 year term)

River Bend Golf and Recreation Society
1 Citizen Representative (2 year term)

Along with your desire to serve your community, some of the general skill-sets required for the above noted committees include experience in law, marketing, finance, business, accounting, governance, communication, human resources, homelessness and social programming, crime prevention and land use planning.

Applications and further details on the committees are available from Legislative & Governance Services, 2nd floor City Hall, or online at www.reddeer.ca under Council Committees. Please submit your application forms no later than Friday, February 4, 2011. Completed application forms may be delivered in person to Legislative & Governance Services, 2nd floor City Hall, by fax to 403-346-6195, or by email to legislativeservices@reddeer.ca.
