Permit values over $115 million for the year

September 6, 2011

August saw $26 million in building permits issued in Red Deer, with public service and commercial values leading the way.

“August was a very strong month,” said Joyce Boon, Inspections & Licensing Manager. “We are very encouraged that our year-to-date permit values are over $115 million dollars, and that commercial permit values have been very strong throughout 2011.”

A public service permit issued for an addition to the Red Deer Regional Hospital’s Cancer Centre located at 3942 – 50A Avenue, valued at $16,531,559 to Stuart Olson Dominion Construction Ltd. of Calgary, and a commercial permit issued for the construction of a CIBC bank at 23 Clearview Market Way, valued at $1.1 million to Kor-Alta Construction Ltd. of Edmonton, contributed to the strong August permit values.

Monthly permit statistics are posted on The City’s website at www.reddeer.ca/inspections.
