Mayor Morris Flewwelling proclaims May 28 to June 1, 2012, Great Neighbourhoods Week in Red Deer.
Great Neighbourhoods Week celebrates neighbourhood life, promotes being a good neighbour, and encourages meeting new neighbours.
“Green Deer, Neighbourhood Watch, Emergency Preparedness, Citizens on Patrol, Community Associations, Integrated Movement Study and Jane’s Walk are all wonderful examples of dedicated organizations and exciting initiatives that strive to improve the quality of life at a neighbourhood level.” said Pauline Mousseau, Neighbourhood Community Development Coordinator. “Take this week as an opportunity to go out and get to know your neighbours, whether it’s by hosting a block party or simply welcoming your new neighbours.”
Red Deerians may find materials to help them show their appreciation for their neighbours, including “Thank You Neighbour” cards, at www.reddeer.ca/great and at City recreation facilities.
