Red Deer City Council approved the Major Area Structure Plan for eight quarter sections of land west of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway, which was annexed as part of Industrial Annexation.
December 17, 2007 – Industrial Area Structure Plan for Queens Business Park approved by The City
Red Deer City Council approved the Queens Business Park Industrial Area Structure Plan for two of eight quarter sections of annexed land west of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway.

July 17, 2007 – Phase I Notice of Intent to Annex submitted to the Municipal Government Board

July 6, 2007 – Intermunicipal Development Plan adopted by The City and Red Deer County
The City and the County adopted the Intermunicipal Development Plan, a cooperative planning document that identifies growth areas for each municipality.
July 5, 2007 – Intermunicipal Development Plan public hearing
The City and the County hosted a Public Hearing on July 5, 2007, to hear from any person claiming to be affected by the Intermunicipal Development Plan.
