Gaetz Avenue Revitalization

The City of Red Deer has approved a streetscape revitalization project for Gaetz Avenue downtown. This project will begin in 2011 and develop Gaetz Avenue as a safe, walkable streetscape with a strong sense of place.

In addition to the planned streetscape enhancements, the proposal presented a change from two-way to one-way between 49 Street and Ross Street. This change reflects comments received from residents and businesses at the open house this summer, and we want to hear your opinions on this proposed change.

On January 19, The City will be hosting a public open house, where citizens can review the Proposed Design Options, ask questions, and provide their input into the future of Gaetz Avenue.

Date:            January 19, 2011
Time:           Drop in between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Location:     Gaetz Memorial United Church
                    4785 Ross Street
