Printer Friendly Version

Printing Our Web Pages

If you see the "Printer Friendly Version" icon (as above / right), you can click on it, then choose File / Print OR File / Print Preview. If you do not see that icon, please see below.

Internet Explorer 4 (and higher)

To print a copy of the screen:

  • Click File / Print Preview (or use the printer icon in the toolbar);
  • Click "Print" (click on page setup to change printer options) and "OK".

To print frames and linked documents:

  • Before clicking "OK" (see steps above), you will see a dialog window with printer options, including selecting which frame(s) to print;
  • The City of Red Deer's website is not built inside frames, so the option to choose which frame to print will not be enabled;
  • If you want to print all pages that are linked to the page you are printing, select the Print all linked documents check box;
  • If you want to print a TABLE of all links on the page you are printing, select the Print TABLE of links check box.
  • To print the text portion only:

    • Click and *drag your mouse from the beginning to the end of the text you'd like to select (*drag = continue holding the left mouse button down until you reach the end of your selection);
    • Go to Edit / Copy in your browser's toolbar
    • Now open your word processing software and Paste the information into a blank document. You can now print that document using your software.
    • Print Layout

      When printing a page, Internet Explorer formats content according to the size of the printed page rather than the size of the onscreen window. The Print command rearranges the page layout (text is word-wrapped and graphics are repositioned) in order to accommodate paper size.

      To set up the page for printing

      From the File menu, choose Page Setup. You can use this command to choose page layout options including header and footer information.
