Heritage Ranch

Heritage Ranch is a wonderful place to get active in Red Deer. The equestrian centre is at the heart of the ranch, and here you can connect with horses through trail and carriage rides in the summer or sleigh rides in the winter. You can also simply enjoy the relaxed pace of the ranch as you meet and pet the many horses who call Heritage Ranch home.

A variety of other activities are also available at Heritage Ranch, as there are playgrounds and outdoor opportunities for people of all ages. Branching off from the equestrian centre, many kilometres of paved and gravel trails wind through the forest down to the Red Deer River. The trails are part of the Waskasoo Park system, and they provide a perfect location for summer and winter activities, including walking, biking, and cross country skiing.

The trout pond, located between the equestrian centre and the river, provides a quiet getaway for fishing or for enjoying the surrounding scenery. The Heritage Ranch picnic shelter is located near the trout pond, and park visitors can use it on a drop-in basis or they can book the facility for a special event.
