Arcadia Housing: Success Story

Arcadia advocated on behalf of this client to the court regarding access to her medication. She had been sent to jail after a hearing and lost access, which would have been detrimental to her mental health. After the judge read the letter which explained the progress she has had since entering the program and the effects of not having medication could have on her, he dropped the charges. The client’s mother reported that her daughter had appeared lost in the world of drugs, alcohol and bad company, but that now she cannot believe the changes in her daughter. The daughter has been dealing with her legal charges, taking the bus daily to receive her medication, has registered for hairdressing school, and has stayed off drugs and alcohol since January 2017. The mother reported that her daughter looks healthy, strong and has self-esteem. This particular client and her mother have become closer as their trust increases.
