Environmental Master Plan

The Environmental Master Plan (EMP) was endorsed by Council in 2011. It serves as a guide to improve environmental sustainability in our city by setting goals and providing short, medium and long-term strategies.

The EMP identifies seven focus areas:

  • water
  • ecology
  • transportation
  • built environment
  • air
  • energy
  • waste

An annual report to the community tracks the progress and reinforces the commitment to improved performance. This report is called Our Environment, Our Role.
