Meter Parking Rates

Parking downtown costs anywhere from $0.80 to $1.50 per hour to depending where you park (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday). Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are free. Different time limits apply for different parking lots and meters (see below). Your on-street meter has a coloured sticker identifying the time limit to park at that meter.

Payment on street meters can be made with all valid coins (except pennies and 50 cent coin), or with The City of Red Deer Parking Card.

Red - 30 Minute Maximum Limit
  • To avoid a ticket, you must move your vehicle after 30 minutes
  • No prepay option

Yellow - Two Hour Maximum Limit
  • To avoid a ticket, you must move your vehicle after 2 hours
  • Prepay options starts at 8 a.m., meter starts counting down at 9 a.m.
$1.30/hour 2 hour restricted parking meter
Orange - Two Hour Limit
  • You can reload the meter without moving your vehicle
  • Prepay option starts at 7 a.m., meter starts counting down at 9 a.m.
$1.00/hour 2 hour unrestricted parking meter
Green - Eight Hour Limit
  • Unrestricted full day of parking from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Prepay option starts at 5 a.m., meter starts counting down at 9 a.m.
$0.80/hour 8 hour pay parking
Brown - Four Hour Maximum Limit
  • To avoid a ticket, you must move your vehicle after 4 hours
