Heating

You will need a heating permit for the installation of any HVAC or hydronic heating system.

Who can apply?

Only a licensed contractor, with a valid sheet metal ticket, can apply for a heating permit. If you are a contractor requiring a City of Red Deer Business Licence, please visit our Licensing page to obtain and submit a Business Licence application, and for additional information.

Step 2: Site inspections

What inspections will I need?

You will need at least two Safety Codes inspections during the course of your heating installation:

  1. A rough-in inspection before concealing any work
  2. A final inspection when all equipment and controls are installed and operational

You will be required to correct all deficiencies. Re-inspection fees or other penalties may apply.

How do I schedule an inspection?

*Inspections must be scheduled by 3 p.m. to book for the following business day.
