Business Revitalization Zone and Tax

The Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ) is an area within Red Deer's downtown. All businesses within the zone pay a yearly business tax to improve and promote the BRZ as the preferred location for retail, professional and service businesses in the downtown.

Red Deer’s Downtown Business Association (DBA) is responsible for projects within the BRZ, including preparation and administration of its budget. The City of Red Deer works with the DBA by completing the Business Assessment and Business Tax Levy for each business, as well as invoicing and collecting the levy for the DBA.

Business Assessment and Business Tax Notices are combined and sent out in February of each year. The due date for payment is the last business day in March.
