Building permits values far exceed 2017 numbers

(Red Deer, Alberta)

Building permits continued to rise in October, with values more than double those in October 2017. 

October 2018 building permit values exceeded $33 million, compared to $15.7 million in October 2017. Year-to-date building permits have reached a total value of $201 million so far in 2018, compared to $112.8 million by this time in 2017.

Notable permits for October include: a $20 million permit for a two-storey expansion on the east side of Bower Mall; a $3 million permit for an expansion to the Transit building at Civic Yards; and a permit, valued at $1.4 million, for interior improvements at 6327 50 Avenue.
