Building permits in each sector and total permits increased in value in November 2016 compared to November of last year. The total value of building permits last month were estimated at $29.8 million, compared to $5.2 million last November.

Residential permits recorded an increase over the month before for only the second time this year.

Construction of the new arena at 4725 43 Street, estimated at nearly $16 million, contributed to the strong permit totals in November.

So far this year, overall permit values are estimated at $240 million, compared to $228 million for the same period in 2015.
