(Red Deer, Alberta)

The public is invited to stop by the G.H. Dawe Community Centre to see the concept designs for The City’s newest community centre.

The display opens to the public at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 27 at the G.H. Dawe Community Centre, in Activity Room 3. There will be a short presentation at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. City staff will be on hand until 7:30 p.m. to answer questions about the design concepts and discuss the community wants and needs that this new facility is designed to meet.

“We are excited to share the concept designs with residents. They can get a sense of what it might look like, and discover some of the potential uses for the spaces.” says Pauline Mousseau, Community Development Supervisor. “This is also an opportunity for residents to see how their input was used in the design of the space and how it influenced different decisions made along the way.”

The concepts will remain on display at the G.H. Dawe until July 3 after which time they will be rotating through the following locations:

July 4-8 Culture Services Centre
July 11-15 Recreation Centre
July 18-22 Collicutt Centre
July 25-29 City Hall

This new community centre will be located on the corner of Taylor Drive and 77 Street, next to Glendale School, and will provide more space for events, meetings, programs, services and activities. To learn more about the project visit www.reddeer.ca/anewgatheringplace.
