Commercial, residential building permits strong in February

March 14, 2016 11:06 AM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

Commercial building permit values were up significantly in February 2016, compared to February 2015. This growth was driven by two major commercial projects. A new Sport Chek, located at 600-5001 19 Street, generated a value of almost $1.2 million, while a new dermatology office at 203-5212 48 Street generated $210,000.

Residential building permit values remain lower in 2016 compared to the same time period in 2015. However, a new, 12 unit apartment building at 3443 51 Ave, valued at over $1.25 million, boosted the residential building permit values for February 2016.

Monthly permit statistics are available on The City’s website at: Red Deer Open Data Catalogue
