City Council to continue consideration of supervised consumption services sites

December 19, 2017 11:41 PM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

After hearing from citizens at a public hearing about six potential sites being considered for supervised consumption services in Red Deer, City Council amended the proposed bylaw and recessed until tomorrow morning when they will reconvene to consider and debate second and potentially third reading.

Three sites were removed from the list of potential sites: the three public health centres (300 Jordan Parkway, 2845 Bremner Avenue, and 4755 49 Street).

City Council will reconvene tomorrow morning, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 9 a.m., in Council Chambers, Floor 2, City Hall. With the meeting continuing into tomorrow, City Council cannot speak about the issue with media, citizens or the public during the adjournment.

As with all City Council Meetings, the public are welcome to attend or watch the live-stream online at http://meeting.reddeer.ca/meetresults.aspx
