Today, Servus Credit Union with The City of Red Deer affirmed their commitment to accessible recreational opportunities in Red Deer in the form of a free community skate. The free skate will run from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month throughout the winter season and is open to the entire community.
"To support community access to the new Red Deer Arena, Servus Credit Union will sponsor a free skate night on the first Thursday of every month, starting February 1. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy this great new arena with their family and friends." announced Pat Quesnel, Senior Vice President Human Resources and Corporate Services, from Servus's Red Deer office. "This is an ongoing commitment for the fifteen years of our partnership with the City of Red Deer and another way we help Albertans save money and improve their financial fitness."
“Free skating night at Servus Arena will help to provide accessible and affordable recreation to all Red Deerians,” said Mayor Tara Veer. “On behalf of City Council and the community, I thank Servus Credit Union for their commitment to recreation and to Red Deer, and we look forward to the first skate event on February 1.”
Finishing touches are underway at the Servus Arena to prepare for the official opening on January 13, 2018. More information about the Servus Arena is posted at: www.reddeer.ca/servusarena.
The sponsorship agreement between The City of Red Deer and Servus Credit Union is for a 15 year term.
