Three things for Canada – Red Deer edition

June 5, 2017 2:15 PM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

Imagine if every Canadian did three things for their neighbourhood, their nation, and their world this year.

With Canada celebrating its 150th year of Confederation in 2017, Red Deer Mayor, Tara Veer, has accepted the challenge placed by Calgary Mayor, Naheed Nenshi, to do “Three Things for Canada”.

“Three Things for Canada involves acts of service that you can do to make your community, your city, and your country a better place, something that I know Red Deerians are already so good at,” said Mayor Veer. “So for Canada’s birthday, Red Deer City Council and I are encouraging our fellow Red Deerians in joining us to do or give three things, large or small, in support of Canada 150”.

More information and how to get involved can be found at www.threethingsforcanada.ca. Resources are available for schools and businesses to challenge each other, and individuals to get involved.

“On behalf of our Red Deer City Council, we invite all Red Deerians to take the challenge, and do three things for Canada this year,” said Mayor Veer. “What a better way to celebrate our great nation than elevating our acts of service in support of the community we are fortunate to call our home”.
