(Red Deer, Alberta)

The City is advising residents that extreme cold temperatures are causing some issues with water lines in the city.

There is a water leak on Westpark Crescent that is causing runoff on 57 Avenue and 43 Street. This runoff is causing icy road conditions on the 43 Street hill. Crews are on-scene working to repair the leak. Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible and, if you must be in the area, use extreme caution, obey signs, and give crews room to maneuver.

Another water leak is located on Ross Street affecting the eastbound lane on Ross turning south onto 40 Avenue. This leak will be repaired on Monday, January 15, and the eastbound lanes on Ross Street near 40 Avenue will remain closed until the leak is repaired. Signs will be in place notifying drivers of the lane closures and crews will be monitoring the situation throughout the weekend.

If you notice or suspect a water leak, please use the Report-A-Problem tool on our website at reddeer.ca/reportaproblem or call 403-342-8750.
