December 14, 2018 2:59 PM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

Some of Red Deer’s outdoor rinks are ready to use this weekend after City staff worked to get them ready for the upcoming holiday season.

Hockey nets are delivered and lighting systems are activated. The City reminds skaters that helmets are recommended at all times, and hockey is not permitted at Bower Ponds or the ice skating oval at Setters Place at Great Chief Park.

The ice at Bower Ponds is ready for Red Deerians to enjoy. Outdoor washrooms are available to the public and are located on the south side of the Bower Ponds Pavilion. Final stages of renovations are being completed at the pavilion; therefore, the concession and skate rental services are not open to the public until December 21, 2018.
