Red Deer RCMP investigate armed robbery at Aladdin Motor Inn

Red Deer, Alberta – Red Deer RCMP are looking for the man who robbed staff at knifepoint at the Aladdin Motor Inn shortly after 6 am this morning.

The suspect entered the motel at approximately 6:15 am, produced a knife and threatened staff. He fled on foot heading northbound, with an undisclosed amount of money. Police Dog Services tracked the suspect to a nearby parking lot, where the track ended; further investigation revealed that the suspect had parked a silver car there, walked to the motel to commit the robbery, then returned to the car and fled from there.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • mid 20s
  • about 5’7” tall
  • skinny build
  • wearing a dark coat, dark colour pants, a dark touque and a mask that covered most of his face
