Red Deer RCMP respond to call at Hunting Hills High School – Update

Red Deer, Alberta – The evacuation order at Hunting Hills High School has been lifted and students and staff are returning to class after a thorough search of the school revealed nothing of concern.

Red Deer RCMP thank the students and staff of Hunting Hills for their cooperation in ensuring ongoing public safety by following their school safety plan in a calm and methodical manner. Police also thank the public for their patience while traffic and other movement in the area was restricted.

Red Deer RCMP respond to call at Hunting Hills High School

Red Deer, Alberta – Red Deer RCMP are on scene at Hunting Hills High School in response to a bomb threat that was phoned in to the school shortly before 10 am this morning. At this time, no danger has been identified to students and staff, but police are working to verify that, and the school is being evacuated and searched in accordance with school safety procedures. Police have contained the area, and entrances to Hunting Hills, Notre Dame and Collicutt Centre parking lots have been closed to the public at this time. Red Deer RCMP ask the public to avoid the area to avoid traffic delays and to give police space to do their work.

Red Deer RCMP will issue an update as more information becomes available.
