Red Deer RCMP arrest man caught breaking into vehicle

Red Deer, Alberta – A Red Deer man is in court this morning after he was caught breaking into a truck in the Inglewood neighbourhood by the truck’s owner.

Red Deer RCMP were called to Ireland Crescent at 2 am this morning in response to a report of a man breaking into vehicles. One of the victims was woken as the suspect went through his truck; he and another witness detained the suspect until police arrived. The suspect was found to be in possession of break-in tools and a number of stolen items including mail and lottery tickets.

32 year old Trevor James Gatzke faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Code 145(3) – Breach of conditions X 3
  • Criminal Code 355(b) – Possession of stolen property under $5,000 X 3
  • Criminal Code 351(1) – Possession of break-in instruments

Gatzke is scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer this morning, September 29 at 9:30 am.
