You agree that the City of Red Deer Archives can use, preserve, reproduce, and share your work as submitted. This is a non-exclusive and royalty-free license. Materials may be used for purposes including but not limited to research, education, exhibition, programs, marketing, reproductions, archiving, and promotional purposes. This permission includes the right to modify your material to conform to the goals of the project or our Archives, to reformat it as necessary to preserve its perceptibility and usefulness, and to make it available for educational, research, and promotional purposes, in perpetuity and in all media and communication formats. This license does not authorize the exploitation of your contribution for profit or commercial use by the Archives.
The material you submit has been created by you, is wholly original, and has not been copied from or based upon any other photographic, literary, or other material, except to the extent that such material is in the public domain, or you have the permission of the copyright owner, or its use is allowed by "Fair Use" as prescribed by the terms of Canadian copyright laws.
You understand that your submission will become the property of The City of Red Deer, which will have the right to accession these materials into its archive where they will be made available to staff. By giving this permission, you understand that you retain any copyright and related rights that you may hold to use and distribute your copy of the submission as you wish. The City of Red Deer has no obligation to use, permanently retain, accession, or publish your contribution. Submissions may be removed from our collection in accordance with our procedures. Maintain your own backup systems for a complete copy of your electronic submission.
You warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and have the full power and authority to consent to this agreement on your behalf or as a legal guardian of the creator. You agree that your submission does not infringe any existing copyright or contain any libelous matter, nor invade any third party rights of privacy or publicity. You further agree to defend and hold harmless The City of Red Deer and their officers, employees, and agents against all claims, demands, costs, and expenses including attorney's fees incurred for any and all claims of copyright infringement or any other legal or regulatory course of action arising from the use of your material.
The personal information collected as part of this transaction and as recorded on this form is protected under Alberta's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The personal information collected is done so under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act S.33(c) and in adherence to The City of Red Deer’s Privacy Principles. The information is required for the administration and management of the Red Deer Archives holdings and programs. The personal information recorded on this form will be used to provide a record of legal ownership, rights management, and intellectual control as they relate to the records that comprise this submission.
