The Wastewater Treatment Plant rehabilitation, replacement and upgrade program ensures that Red Deer’s Wastewater Treatment Plant continues to treat wastewater from city residents and regional customers to meet regulatory requirements and minimize environmental impacts. 

Proposed Timeline

Rehabilitation, replacement and upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment plant are multi-year projects, starting in 2020 and going through to 2029. 

Highlights

Projects include diagnostic tools, digester roof manway repairs, pump replacement, boiler retrofit, workspace improvements, and road, gate and landscaping improvements. Also included is Phase 4 expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, starting in 2022 with completion in 2025.
