Red Deer RCMP seek witnesses to hit and run incident

Red Deer, Alta. – Red Deer RCMP are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a hit and run incident in the city’s West Park neighbourhood.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, a teenager was skateboarding westbound along 43 Street, and entered the crosswalk to cross 54 Ave where he collided with a white SUV. The vehicle then proceeded to make a right turn onto 43 Street and drive away from the scene.

Red Deer RCMP have obtained image of the suspect vehicle and are releasing it in hopes that the driver will come forward or the public may be able to assist in identification. The vehicle is described as a white SUV, possibly a Jeep Compass, last seen driving eastbound on 43 street. The individual on the skateboard sustained only minor injuries.
