Why does The City of Red Deer offer this program?

This program is designed to engage residents by activating the power of parks and providing safe opportunities for participants to re-connect in their local neighbourhood park sites through a variety of activities that support physical activity and social connection and maximize use of local park amenities.

Who is managing Meet me at the Park?

Meet me at the Park is being coordinated by The City of Red Deer in partnership with various local agencies and community associations. Experienced Recreation staff will be leading activities during the day and will be joined throughout the week by our community partners. For more information contact the Community & Program Facilitator at 403-309-8409.

Why aren’t they coming to my neighbourhood?

Unfortunately we aren’t able to bring Meet me at the Park to every neighbourhood in the city, so we selected neighbourhoods based on several different factors. The program is being offered in partnership with the local Community Associations in those neighbourhoods. We encourage people to join the program closest to you.

What activities will be there?

Activities offered will vary from site to site based on the amenities available and will include a variety of options for unstructured creative play. Activities may change based on community interests and should provide options for all ages and abilities.

The following may be offered:

  • Circuit courses, obstacle course
  • Soccer/basketball/tennis/pickleball/badminton/baseball
  • Arts and crafts
