Construction will see road closures on 49 Street and 48 Street over the coming weeks as water, wastewater and storm services are replaced in preparation for the new Red Deer Justice Centre.
49 Street between 48 Avenue and 49 Avenue will close on September 30 and is set to reopen October 3. During this time, traffic will be detoured to 49 Avenue and the Sorensen Station Parkade will be closed. Sidewalks along the south side of 49 Street will also be closed during this time.
Once 49 Street reopens, 48 Street will close along the same block for approximately one week, and is expected to reopen on October 9. During this time, the sidewalk along the north side of 48 Street will be closed.
Accommodations have been made to ensure Red Deer Transit service will continue to operate as normal throughout construction.
Drivers are reminded to use caution and follow all signage when driving through construction zones.
