Building permit values climb in October

Building permit values have increased in October, with 73 approved permits valued at $4.2 million, compared with 113 permits issued in October 2020 worth $5.2 million.

Year-to-date building permits remain lower in 2021, with current values at $91.2 million compared with $120.9 million last year.

Notable permits include:

  • Building permit for tenant improvements for a restaurant (Popeye's) at 5101 50 Avenue 7414, valued at $485,000.
  • Building permit for a detached dwelling with front attached garage and rear uncovered deck and basement development at 133 Emerald Drive, valued at $287,197
  • Building permit for a detached dwelling, attached garage, uncovered deck, veranda and basement development at 5329 42 Avenue, valued at $212,485
  • Building permit for detached dwelling with front attached garage at 165 Emerald Drive, valued at $204,405
  • Building permit for a detached dwelling with front attached garage at 177 Emerald Drive, valued at $202,853.
