The City of Red Deer is accepting applications for a taxi plate draw for five (5) Taxi Licence Plates and two (2) Accessible Taxi Licence Plates. The draw will take place virtually on Monday, September 27 at 2 p.m.
As part of implementation of the new Vehicle for Hire bylaw, City Council approved seven new plates for the city. While the draw will be held virtually for safety reasons, applicants and interested viewers will be able to watch live online at reddeer.ca/taxiplatedraw.
Application forms are available on the City website at reddeer.ca/taxiplatedraw. Completed applications may be submitted to licensing@reddeer.ca. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 20 at 4 p.m.
Anyone interested in applying to be part of the draw is asked to ensure they can meet all eligibility requirements before submitting an application. Eligible applicants must:
- be an Independent Owner Operator or a Taxi Brokerage in its first year of operation
- be eligible and meet all criteria to hold a Taxi Licence Plate or Accessible Taxi Licence Plate
- submit their Brokerage Licence or Independent Owner Operator application along with their Plate application
Successful applicants will be contacted directly by September 30, 2021.
