Red Deer RCMP have located a truck they believe to be the one involved in the fatal hit and run in north Red Deer on March 11, and the RCMP forensic identification team is now working to determine whether or not it is the suspect truck.

In a recent private ceremony, Red Deer RCMP recognized a citizen for his outstanding contribution in helping police locate multiple stolen vehicles each month, sometimes while the criminals were still in them.

Red Deer RCMP have arrested and charged a man after a break-in to an electronics store in the early morning of March 27 in which almost $17,000 worth of electronics were stolen.

Throughout March, Red Deer RCMP and Community Peace Officers (CPOs) targeted the correct use of occupant restraints, issuing 78 tickets for failing to use occupant restraints or using them unsafely. The traffic safety focus for April is speeding.

On this snowy day, Red Deer RCMP would like to remind drivers when and how to report motor vehicle collisions. RCMP also remind drivers to slow down and drive for the conditions and check that their vehicle tires are adequate for winter roads.

Thanks to amazing support from the community, the epic “Battle of the Badges” hockey game between Red Deer RCMP and Red Deer Emergency Services (RDES) on April 20 raised approximately $35,000 for the players and families of the Humboldt Broncos.
